OMEGA 3 FOR SEAFOOD VERSUS OMEGA 3 TERRESTRIAL PLANT

In Peru, the fishing is done on a large coastline spanning 3100 km long from Tumbes to Tacna, is a source of direct and indirect employment in the entire production chain and fishing also contributes to food security providing population mainly seafood products fresh.

Fish is considered one of the most nutritionally complete food because it provides nutrients such as protein, healthy fat, vitamins and minerals, which cover our daily energy requirements, are also very suitable source concentrations of essential fatty acids omega family 3: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), nutrients needed for optimal health and wellness at every stage of human development, but our body can not produce them, therefore must be consumed through diet . In this regard, it is necessary to differentiate between omega 3 terrestrial plant and marine origin, as the first principal component only have like omega 3 to  alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), while those of marine origin are characterized by their high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids omega 3 fatty acids that are highly valued by its beneficial effects on health and nutrition that omega 3 fatty acids of vegetable land. Furthermore, scientific studies reveal that the majority of omega-3 terrestrial plant (ALA) is used by the body as an energy source, however, when consumed EPA and DHA from fish oil, they are absorbed directly by tissues.

Accordingly, it recommends the consumption of marine omega-3 to ensure the recommended dose of omega 3 in the body is recommended to consume oily fish (sardines, mackerel, mackerel, anchovy etc.) with a frequency 3 times a week for the benefits which gives the human body at every stage of their development .

In conclusion it is best to consume the marine-derived omega-3 than omega-3 plant, because the former are natural source of DHA and EPA which are directly absorbed by the tissues
